Steps to Accepting Awards

I am going to use “Shine On” as an example to steps for accepting awards of these types.

There are different awards but the requests are similar when doing these types of “chain style awards”. I hope this helps if you choose to participate. No one is obligated to do it. Your chosen nominees, however, have to be selected if you do. The benefit to this is meeting and sharing new bloggers. Turning it down is, however, understandable because it can get tiresome. It is time-consuming and it involves getting people involved. I apologize to those who get annoyed at these types of requests. One thing I noticed on some blogs is a request for no awards. Smart move on those blogs.

Here are the steps for this particular award (Shine On).

1. Display the award logo on your blog.

Search for the image then copy the image to your draft. You can also put a widget image and it will display on the side as shown on my blog and add your link in the widget so it goes back to your blog post if someone clicks on the image. However, you have to add the link to the widget when you have completed your draft and it has been posted.

2. Link back to the person who nominated you.

Copy the link and put it in your form under “text” not “visual” on your menu options as you create your draft, do the following format, be sure to add “<”  with the “a” at the beginning of this format,  a href =”http:// …com_” target=”blank_”>Title it< then after “<” add your “/a>” to close it and it should look like my title here Shine On and if you click on it you will go to that post.

3. State 7 things about yourself

Make your list of 7 things about you

4. Nominate 15 other bloggers for this award and link to them.

Do your list, copying each link, and then do the process as I showed you under “Link back to the person who nominated you” using the target=”blank_” so each link will open in a separate window.

5. Notify those bloggers of the nomination and the award requirements

Send each of them a notification and direct them to where your award blog is so they can see how it is done.

Fun for all or fun for none. Remember all you have to say is “thank you but I don’t do those” or just “No thank you” or “I’ll have to pass”, which is what I’m about to do this time for another award I just received.
